Day 9. Saterday February 18. From the city of Oaxaca over Mitla with El Tule, Teotitlan del Valle, Benito Juarez, cajonos and matattan.

Yet another good nights sleep this time in the Hotel Cruz del Angel and after an outdoor brealfast we drive out of the city and make our first visit to " El Tule".

Afterwards we take the Mex.190 and then the side road to Teotitlan del Valle. This is the city famous for the Cochile Luis where there make the most beautiful colours for carpets as well as weaving the carpets. We visit a demonstration. Andre started this day to be very sick.Just out of the city we found a nice form of Agave potatorum.We drive through Bonito Juarez and into Cajanos arriving at a 3km hight altitude up in the mountains. We found here a dark collared plant of Agave potatorum. At the end of the day we arrived in Matattan, the city is famous for the mescal and we make a visit to one shop. But Wim tasted very much mescal, so we must find a Hotel to stay overnight, this we did!
